Sea to Summit: Maine Hiking Challenge – Coming in 2023
Set out on amazing hiking challenges throughout Maine and New Hampshire, from Acadia National Park to the White Mountains, and finally summitting the majestic Mt. Katahdin. For girls ages 13-16.
Postponed for 2022. Check back in August for 2023 dates!
Set out on an amazing hiking challenge throughout Maine and New Hampshire – for a full two weeks!
First, you’ll explore Maine’s beautiful and dramatic coastal shoreline. You’ll hike rocky headland trails that are the highest of those along the Atlantic coastline of the United States. We will camp in the natural beauty of the crown jewel of the north Atlantic, Acadia National Park. While there, visit Bar Harbor, the gateway to Acadia National Park and a destination for visitors from around the world.
For part two of the hiking challenge, you’ll head to the White Mountains on the Maine/New Hampshire border and set foot on the Appalachian Trail, the longest hiking-only footpath in the world! You’ll hike the alpine terrain in the White Mountains home to stunning waterfalls, relaxing swimming holes, and incredible wildlife, such as moose, black bear, loons, fox, turkey, and rainbow trout; and experience the north woods of Maine. You’ll set out on the rugged and challenging northern point of the Appalachian Trail.
Finally, you and your new Girl Scout sisters will wrap your hiking adventure by summiting Maine’s tallest mountain in Baxter State Park, and the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail, the majestic Mount Katahdin.
