About the Trip

The Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace is perhaps the only “house museum” in the nation created specifically for girls to enjoy—though it is loved by everyone! At this unique house museum, owned and operated by Girl Scouts of the USA, visitors can trace the arc of Juliette Gordon Low’s life and the Girl Scout Movement she founded. The house stands as a National Historic Landmark honoring the daughter, debutante, wife, adventurer, and artist who became the first Girl Scout—our beloved Juliette “Daisy” Gordon Low.

Girl Scout Juniors through Ambassadors may participate in our Girl Scout Troop Experience. Girl Scout Troops will spend a morning discovering the unconventional life of Juliette “Daisy” Low and experiencing her childhood home. Girls will play her favorite games, and look closely at how she challenged expectations for women in her day to become a confident leader.

Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors may participate in Over Tea Cups, an afternoon tea tasting tour in Daisy’s family home. We’ll taste our way through stories from the life of Juliette Low and the Girl Scouts as we explore the house together. Then we’ll sit down to afternoon tea with light refreshments in the parlors of Daisy’s family home, where the first Girl Scout recruitment teas were held. You’ll contribute a favorite recipe to our recipe box, and find one left by another troop to copy for your own recipe collection. And maybe–just as it did for Daisy and other daring women before and since–your tea talk will inspire a new recipe for empowering women and girls!
