A taste of the Mediterranean: kayaking the Greek isles!

15 16 17-18 2018 Culture International Outdoors
About the Trip

Imagine yourself paddling through the warm, clear, waters of the Mediterranean off the scenic coastline of the Ionian Islands. These islands were settled by the Greeks as early as 1200 BC and speculated to be the home to Odysseus (on Ithaca) in the epic Greek poem “The Odyssey”. This relaxing paddle adventure is filled with snorkeling in crystal clear water, exploring picturesque villages, down to earth hospitality, and a lot of delicious Greek food. Your days will be spent paddling, snorkeling, swimming through the azure waters, and shopping at the local costal town. Your evenings will be a mix of beach camping with the requisite barbecues, storytelling, and seaside games with an occasional comfortable bed and breakfast along the way. After our adventure is over, we will spend our last day in Athens seeing some of the major cultural sights such as the Acropolises and Parthenon!
