About the Trip

Nestled in a wooded setting just 10 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge, the Marin Headlands Hostel offers a chance to get away, wind down, and enjoy breathtaking ocean views and trails that lead from creekside to mountainside, open meadow to crashing surf. Learn about the history and ecology of the Headlands with a certified Naturalist as part of our half-day Outdoor Hostel Adventure Program, and then stop by the Marine Mammal Center to learn about the elephant seals, sea lions, and sea otters that are treated here and released back into the wild. Spend a half-day volunteering at the Native Plant Nursery, where seeds are collected to propagate hundreds of species native to National Parks. Hike to nearby Rodeo Beach, and visit the Point Bonita Lighthouse and the only restored Nike missile site in the U.S. Extend your trip with a visit to Mount Tamalpais, Muir Woods, Sausalito, or San Francisco.
