Camp Fury
Camp Fury is a high adventure immersion experience in the life of elite women of the fire and police services.
Gear up and work alongside the elite women from Southern Arizona’s fire and police services. You’ll rappel over the edge of a six-story building, climb a 110-foot ladder truck, investigate crime scenes, and ride along with driving instructors in a high-speed obstacle course! You’ll sleep in the engine house at the training academy and get plenty of fun in too!
You’ll start each day early with physical training. After breaking up into girl-led crews you’ll take on the day’s activities, which will include hands-on learning stations which are a blend of both fire and police service tasks. These stations include the activities listed above, plus lifesaving compression-only CPR (a technique developed at the University of Arizona) and more. Learn the stories of real women breaking the glass ceilings in these male-dominated professions. Your training leaders will be your friends and mentors for life. Your evenings are spent on fun leadership skill building and bonding with your crew.

This camp is a physically challenging immersive experience. Girls will be encouraged to challenge themselves to take risks and complete numerous tasks which are both physically and mentally taxing. This sometimes involves pushing past fears and overcoming mental blocks. If you have any questions about the physical challenges, please don’t hesitate to contact us for answers.
We welcome inquiries about staff positions from up to 3 female volunteers who have a career in the fire or law enforcement services. Please contact Timalee Nevels at tnevels@girlscoutssoaz.org.
