These Girls are R.E.A.L.
Meet Grace and Nina. They’re twins in their senior year at Lake Forest High School in Lake Forest, Illinois. They’re on the varsity swim team, they play the violin, and both hope to enter military academies for college.
They’re also Girl Scouts who earned their Gold Award through an annual Green Glamour clothing exchange they created to benefit underprivileged kids and teens in their community.
If that’s not enough, the twins are featured on the cover of the latest issue of Justine, a teen magazine. They won the magazine’s annual R.E.A.L. Girl contest (R.E.A.L. stands for Remarkable, Energetic, Aspirational Leaders).
When they’re not posing for magazine covers, Grace and Nina also find time to bond.
“We lifeguard together; we play in the symphony orchestra together; we have the same friends; we swim together, and love exploring different areas of Chicago together—we both have a sense of adventure,” Grace says.
In true Girl Scout fashion, they’ve also arranged for their Green Glamour clothing swap to live on even after they head off to college. They are handing it off to some younger Girl Scouts.
