Stamp of Approval
Jun 20, 2012
The U.S. Postal Service debuted the new Girl Scouts 100th-anniversary commemorative stamp during our Rock the Mall festivities on Saturday, June 9, in Washington, D.C. The first-class Celebrate Scouting forever stamp features a silhouette of a girl with binoculars looking into the distance. What does she see? Perhaps a soaring bald eagle or a faraway destination. The scene within the silhouette features a girl in mid-stride on a hike with a walking stick, shorts, and backpack. The environment in the stamp, created by Mill Valley, California, artist Craig Frazier, shows large redwoods, a lake, a distant forested mountainside, and small ferns with a blue sky. Sounds like an idyllic way to send your letter. Collect your stamp today!
