Happy Birthday, Girl Scouts!
The Girl Scout community is blowing out 100 candles today! More than three million Girl Scouts—and 50 million women who used to be Girl Scouts—are celebrating this monumental day in their own special ways.
There are so many exciting stories being written about our birthday. Check these out:
• Promise Circles and celebrations are planned in 300 Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana locations!
• A sing-along on the Mall in Washington, D.C., this summer, with 200,000 Girl Scouts expected to attend.
• In Juliette Gordon Low’s hometown of Savannah, Georgia, girls plant trees at Gordonston’s Juliette Low Park.
To help celebrate our illustrious birthday year, the Girl Scouts launched a campaign called ToGetHerThere. Anna Maria Chávez, CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA, says it’s one way to help girls become the kind of leaders they want to be.
