Girl Scouts 2013 National Young Women of Distinction: Zoë

The world needs more girls in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) careers. For her Gold Award project, Zoë started a STEM career finder website that has since gone global, drawing girls from Atlanta to Africa. “I made a difference by going for Gold,” Zoë says. “I see a lot of girls in my high school, and just girls around me, who seem like they’re tentatively interested in science careers, but they don’t have the confidence to take it on. I wanted to do this project so I could show girls [that] this is possible. You can do these things.”
