Create an App for This!
Apps are all that. Whether you want to share photos or play Angry Birds on your tablet or smartphone, there are loads of cool things you can do with apps. Now, the White House Council on Women and Girls is looking for an app to inspire girls to serve as leaders—and you could be the one to create it!
The Equal Futures App Challenge asks entrants to create an app that empowers girls by offering ways to voice their issues to elected representatives, tips on being an effective leader, and how to run for office. GS National CEO Anna Maria Chávez will serve as one of the judges of this educational and fun challenge. Notable apps will be highlighted on the White House website and in the White House blog. Entries must be received by January 12 at 12 a.m. EDT. Individuals should submit screen shots or video of their working app, as well as a link to the app itself.
