Call for Submissions!
We are seeking submissions for our spring-summer 2013 Girl Scouts Speak Out! theme—Get up! Get active! Get healthy! Our request is simple, fun, and rewarding: Captivate with your creativity when you make a public-service announcement (PSA) that shows the world what a difference sports and exercise can make to everyone’s quality of life.
Think about some activities you love to do (such as swimming, softball, bicycling, jogging), how they make you feel, and what a difference they make to your overall outlook. Then, make a PSA that tells others why they should join you and get active too. Could we create a healthier, happier world if more people got up and made exercise a part of their everyday routine?
You’ll spread the good word and communicate a lasting message that encourages wellness when you create your own masterpiece, or gather with your Girl Scout sisters and start brainstorming ideas. You can collaborate on a script and use a digital camera to film a PSA that encourages people to get up and move. The winner will see her brilliant work shot by a professional crew. But it doesn’t have to be a filmed statement. You can make a giant, colorful poster your medium, or compose an essay—the decisions are all yours to make, and the message is wholly yours to convey. And your final product sends a message that can change the world.
Girl Scouts Speak Out! will accept entries through August 31, 2013, 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time. Voting will close September 15, 2013 at 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time. For more information, visit Girl Scouts Speak Out!
